Louis Penny's detective novels are set in Canada, most of them around Quèbec (and Charlotte Islands). They are great to read about Canadian food, the French and English heritage, literature, art, and landscapes, so ambitious are Penny's novels. They are great to work with some students learning both languaguages because there are many references to the anglophones vs.francophones way of living in the region.
